The Covid-19 pandemic cancelled our company’s gig as the featured performers for the Stillwater (Oklahoma) Arts Festival in April 2020. We quickly shifted gears and transformed these durational, site-specific solos into low-tech dance films. Performers set up tripods and worked with family members/ roommates to capture their films from home. For this show, each solo performer interpreted a different emotional concept within the framework of the same musical score. We used our social media channels to invite audience members to visit the virtual concert (a page on our company’s website), reflect on their own emotional state, and choose to watch one or more of the solos whose titles reminded them of how they were feeling.
